"Most Honorable Mentions - Canadian Fighter Pilots & Air Gunners
of WW2"
HERE
______________________________________________________
This incomplete list of "Honorary Canadian Aces" is made
up of Aces who were in the RCAF at some time during WW2, like the
Americans who went to Canada and enlisted because the US had not
yet entered the war (I've read that approximately 10% of the RCAF
enlistments when WW2 began were Americans). Johnny Johnson and Douglas
Bader however, commanded RAF "Canadian" Wings and were
given "Honorary Canadian" status by the Canadians who
served with them. In fact Johnson even wore a "Canada"
patch on the shoulder of his uniform. |
And another thing ...
If you have a photo that's better than one you see here,
or better yet, a photo you don't see here, how
about
!?!
If you have corrections/suggestions, feel free to click that link and suggest
away.
